Greenfingers – a national charity dedicated to creating magical, therapeutic gardens for life-limited children, their families and carers

Greenfingers is driven by the belief that time spent outdoors, away from the bedside, to improve their time spent in hospices across the UK. They provide a vital opportunity to embrace the benefits of being in the fresh air and engage with the natural environment.

To raise awareness and funds for the Greenfingers Charity they have a team of 23 volunteers, currently climbing Kilimanjaro, the legendary ‘Roof of Africa’, to raise funds for Greenfingers Charity!

Conquering Kilimanjaro is no small feat. The journey to the summit takes 7 days, with nothing but a tent between you and the wilds of Africa. An elevation of 5,895m pushes bodies to the limit, with an overnight trek on summit day taking you to views that reach for hundreds of miles. It’s no wonder this challenge is often described as life changing.

The climb is taking place from 10th June to 21st June 2026 and has been organised by the experts at CharityChallenge, this fantastic Greenfingers event will enable our fantastic team to take our charity to the top of the world.

100% of your sponsorship for their year of training and epic climb of Mount Kilimanjaro goes direct to the charity. You are making a huge difference to children across the UK.

Tendring pacific sponsored the second day of the climb. You can see the video update that Jodie posted, along with video posts from the other trek days at Team Max daily update page. We hope that you might feel as inspired by us and make a donation through this link to Jodie’s Just Giving page.

We joined in the floral celebration of their departure on Friday with our own tribute to send them.
